Guest Bets vs Betting on the Wedding
Guest Bets is a prediction game for the bachelor party, the bachelorette party, the rehearsal dinner, and your most special day. You write the questions, guests answer from one link with no app and no account, and a live leaderboard sorts them out. Your first 3 events are free with unlimited guests. Guests can type a real answer rather than pick from a list, a friend can keep score for you, and the same account runs the baby shower and the Super Bowl party later.
Betting on the Wedding is built for weddings and nothing else. It costs $49.99, paid up front before a single guest has seen a question, and the App Store and Google Play listings are the way in that their own site advertises for the couple. Their guests play in the browser with no download, the same as ours, and they have a scorekeeper handoff and a library of question ideas as well. The difference is what happens either side of the one day: Guest Bets costs nothing to run first, asks nobody to install anything, and still works for you the next time you throw a party of any kind.
Where Guest Bets is different
Occasions: One tool for every party, not just the wedding
Betting on the Wedding is built for weddings and nothing else. The day after the wedding it has nothing left to do. Guest Bets runs the wedding, then the baby shower, the Super Bowl party, the birthday, the awards show, and game night, on the same account with the same kind of link and the same leaderboard. Your questions are still there the next time.
Price: Nothing to pay before anyone plays
Betting on the Wedding is $49.99, paid up front, before a single guest has seen a question. Guest Bets is $0 for your first 3 events, and the scorekeeper links, the invite nudges, the templates and the live leaderboard are all in the free tier. Run the whole thing, watch your guests play it, and decide afterwards whether you want to pay us anything at all.
Nothing to install: You should not need an app to run your own wedding
The App Store and Google Play badges are the way in that Betting on the Wedding advertises for the couple. Their guests join in the browser, and so do ours. The difference is you: with Guest Bets you build the questions, watch the picks land, and hand out a scorekeeper link from whatever device you already have open, on the day and for months afterwards.
Questions: Your guests can write an answer, not just pick from a list
Ask what colour the mother of the bride will wear, or what the first dance song will be, and let people type it. Free text answers are matched with a tolerance of two characters, so "fuchsia" and "fuschia" both score, and a guest is never punished for spelling. Multiple choice and numbers stay exact, because those should be. Betting on the Wedding describes up to five answer choices per question.
Invites: You can see who has not picked yet
Every invite shows as invited, opened, or picked, so you know where you stand the day before. One tap emails everyone who is still missing. If you would rather not think about it at all, Guest Bets sends that nudge on its own 3 hours before picks close.
Your guests: A guest types a name and plays
No account to create, no password to reset at the reception, nothing to remember later. Guests open one link or scan a QR code and answer. The leaderboard is still there the next morning without anybody logging in to find it.

How to read the Betting on the Wedding column: every fact in it comes from their own public marketing and pricing pages, and we filled in every one we could find, including the ones that do not flatter us. Where we could not find a public answer we wrote "Not stated publicly". That is not us saying they lack the feature. It means they do not say, and we will not guess on their behalf. Prices and features change, and these were checked in July 2026.
The short version: Guest Bets runs any occasion and your first 3 events cost nothing, where Betting on the Wedding is weddings only at $49.99 paid up front. They do some of this well too, including the trusted-guest scorekeeper and the library of question ideas, and the table above says so.
Questions people ask
How is Guest Bets different from Betting on the Wedding?
Guest Bets works for any occasion, the bachelor party, the bachelorette party, the rehearsal dinner, your most special day, and the baby shower after it, where Betting on the Wedding is built for weddings only. Your first 3 events are free, where they charge $49.99 up front before a guest sees a question. Nobody installs anything with Guest Bets, where the App Store and Google Play listings are the route their site advertises for the couple. And your guests can type a real answer with a two-character typo tolerance, where their site describes up to five answer choices per question. On the things they also do well, such as handing scoring to a trusted guest and starting from a library of question ideas, the table above says so plainly.
Do I have to install an app to use Guest Bets?
No, and neither does anybody else. You build and run your event in a browser, on a phone or a laptop, and your guests open a link or scan a QR code. There is nothing in an app store to download, nothing to update, and nothing to delete afterwards. Betting on the Wedding advertises App Store and Google Play listings as the way in for the couple; their guests, like ours, play in the browser.
Is Guest Bets free?
Yes. Your first 3 events are free, with unlimited guests, a live leaderboard, scorekeeper links, invite tracking and nudges, and no credit card. If you want the premium features for one event, the Event Pass is $10 one time. Pro is $5 a month for unlimited events, a custom event URL, your own colours and a preview photo.
Can somebody else enter the answers so I am not doing it at my own party?
Yes. Create up to 3 scorekeeper links and send them to whoever is helping. They open the link and enter the real answers as the night goes on. They need no account and see no guest details, the link only works after picks close, and you can revoke it at any time. It is free on every plan. Betting on the Wedding describes a similar handoff, where you assign a trusted guest to close bets and track winners.
Does Guest Bets work for weddings?
Yes. Write your own questions or copy a template, set a cutoff before the ceremony, then share one link or a QR code. Use multiple choice, free text and time questions together, add a time-based tiebreaker for a draw, and let a friend keep score while you get married. Then use the same account for the baby shower.
What do guests actually do?
They open your link or scan the QR code, type a name, and answer your questions before the cutoff: who catches the bouquet, what time the speeches start, how long the best man talks for. Picks lock at the cutoff. Then, as the real answers get entered, the live leaderboard re-ranks, and by the end of the night one guest has called the party better than everybody else and gets the bragging rights.
